The LWML meets on the first Thursday of the month from 10:00 to 11:00. All women are invited to attend.
The Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML) is an official auxiliary of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS). The Mary-Martha Guild of Living Savior Lutheran Church is part of the Texas District LWML and the National LWML. The LWML seeks to develop and maintain a greater mission consciousness among the women of the Synod through education, inspiration, and service. It places a major emphasis on the support of mission and ministry throughout the world by means of Mite Box offerings. These Mite Box offerings have funded over 100 million dollars in mission grants since the organization’s inception in 1942.
Mites are collected at the LWML meeting and on the first Sunday of the month in the large mite box in the Narthex. Mite boxes are available by the large mite box. Money collected for mites is sent to the Texas District LWML. Twenty-five percent of the money collected for mites is sent to the National LWML for the National LWML Mission Grants. The remaining seventy-five percent of the money remains in Texas for the Texas District Mission Grants. The local LWML is also a part of the New Horizon Zone. This is a group of local LWML organizations that meet twice yearly. There is a fall and a spring rally.
The LWLM of Living Savior supports local, state, national and international organizations. This is done each year. February 2014 donations totaling $4000 were given to 14 recipients.
The LWML of Living Savior also supports a Child Beyond International (CBI) child. There is a container for donations beside the large mite box for donations.
School supplies are collected for Lutheran World Relief school kits. One hundred school kits were prepared and sent to Lutheran Would Relief in 2023.
The LWML pledge describes our mission:
In fervent gratitude for the Savior's dying love and His blood-bought gift of redemption we dedicate ourselves to Him with all that we are and have; and in obedience to His call for workers in the harvest fields, we pledge Him our willing service wherever and whenever He has need of us. We consecrate to our Savior our hands to work for Him, our feet to go on His errands, our voice to sing His praises, our lips to proclaim His redeeming love, our silver and our gold to extend His Kingdom, our will to do His will, and every power of our life to the great task of bringing the lost and the erring into eternal fellowship with Him. Amen.
The local LWML is also a part of the New Horizon Zone. This is a group of local LWML organizations that meet twice yearly. There is a fall and a spring rally.
